My Story

  • My mommy adopted me when I was 2 months old. My grandma got me as a present for her when she graduated with her bachelor’s degree so she could pursue her dream of helping people through the use of animals!

  • My mom began training me herself right away! She taught me obedience skills and even some fun tricks to make people smile when we visit them. When I was one year old, we were ready to start doing volunteer work together at the hospital!

  • I was able to start joining my mom for classes in her master’s program in 2019, since I was being such a good boy with all of my training. I learned all sorts of things about how and when to interact with people, working in group therapy, doing crisis intervention, and lots more about what it means to be a therapy dog and co-therapist with my mommy.

  • The real fun began when mommy graduated and started taking me to work with her! We successfully worked together to pass my AKC Canine Good Citizen evaluation, and I was able to help people everyday at work. I was able to spot people in crisis and intervene, bring comfort during hard days, offer safety and support during anxious events, and bring smiles to everyone I saw.

a bit about me

I was born February 28th, 2018. I am an F1B Goldendoodle; that’s important because it means I am 75% poodle and hypoallergenic/non-shedding! I enjoy going on walks, belly rubs, cuddling, cold weather, hiking, swimming, and treats. But my favorite thing to do is visit people! I also have two kitty-cat siblings named T’Challa and Sgt. Tibbs to which I am a proud big brother.

My mommy named me after Abraham Maslow who developed the hierarchy of needs. She says I give everyone their love and belonging needs! <3
